In October, Brimmer and May hosted 17 Thai middle and high school students, along with three Thai teacher, who came to the United States as part of the 12th King of Thailand Birthplace Foundation Cultural Exchange. The students were in Massachusetts for almost two weeks, and spent three days at the School. The King has ties to the Commonwealth, being born in Cambridge at the time his father studied Public Health at Harvard.
While at Brimmer and May, the Thai students attended a Welcome Reception, spent time with the Global Studies students, and shadowed Middle and Upper School students to a variety of classes. At the Wednesday Assembly, our Middle School students were treated to a traditional Thai dance performance with a presentation about Thai culture, after which Global Studies Director Kelly Neely led the Thai visitors on a guided tour of the Freedom Trail in Boston.
