2nd Grade Science

Second grade scientists are investigating what is the best component in soil for growing lima beans. They began their experiment by testing the absorbency of clay. Using a graduated cylinder, they poured 30 ml of water into a container of clay, which contained small holes at the bottom. They then recorded their observations. One student observed, “It [the container] started to leak.” Students will also test sand and topsoils before planting their beans.
