All-League Fall Athletes

Congratulations to our four All-League Fall Athletes!
Brimmer and May is proud to announce that Sophie Lapat ’18, Shani Breiman ’18, Liam Conklin '19, and Kyle Anderson ’15 were all named All-League players this fall.

Sophie Lapat ’18 landed 15 assists and scored 21 goals. Middle School Head and Coach Peter Gordon said of Sophie, “She became a tactical nightmare for opposing defenses and worked hard to identify when to share the ball and when to attack herself. There were 7 games this year where she scored 2 or 3 goals, but more importantly she became a player that the team counted on. Being named an All-League player as a freshman was a confirmation of just how far she has come in such a short time.”

Shani Breiman ’18 had 30 goals with 8 assists, with six games scoring 3 or more goals. Middle School Head and Coach Peter Gordon said of Shani, “You will not find anyone who is more intense or focused out on the field.  She plays hard, from beginning to end, and she will do whatever she has to for the benefit of the team.  She pushes herself harder than any athlete I have ever coached, and she regularly outworked everyone in the league.”

Liam Conklin '19 was only the second middle school runner in the history of the league to be named an MBIL All-League Player. By mid-season he was consistently finishing races in the top ten, with his best performance being a 3rd place finish on the challenging Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall course in mid-October. To cap his season, Liam crossed the finish line in 10th place (out of over 200 runners) in the 8th grade boys division at the 6th Annual Massachusetts Middle School Cross Country Invitational, an event that pulls athletes from public schools, private schools, and running clubs from across the Commonwealth.

Kyle Anderson ‘15 was named an MBIL All-League Player for the 5th consecutive year, and he finished in the top five (out of over 100 runners) of the MBIL championship race for the 5th consecutive year. A captain for each of the last three seasons, he finishes his Brimmer and May career with two league championships and a record that establishes him as the most accomplished runner in School history.
