Grade 5 Colonial Exhibition

Grade 5 studied early Colonial America through the lens of Dr. Maria Montessori's research on fundamental needs. The students researched the successful colonies of Plimoth and Jamestown, and they also analyzed the failed colonies of Fort Caroline, Roanoke, and Ajacan. After conducting their research, the students created their own colonies, designed maps, built bridges, drafted colony compacts, and wrote journals from the perspective of a child living in their colony.
