Welcome to Brimmer and May.
I would like to share with you my thoughts about Brimmer and May. The School is a vibrant, diverse, inclusive learning community where every student from pre-school through grade twelve is well-known by teachers and administrators. We promote active learning and student responsibility by challenging students to take on leadership positions within the classroom each day and in the larger outside community. We are preparing our students to become informed, ethical, and productive citizens and leaders in our global world of the 21st century by fostering analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and ethical decision-making.
Our curriculum has a global focus, and students work both independently and collaboratively on research projects and creative assignments that require them to read critically, write with clarity, to synthesize information from various disciplines, and to articulately share their ideas in public forums. Emphasizing experiential learning, Brimmer and May students can be found working in the Lower School Organic Habitat that they have created, teaching creative arts classes at a nearby public elementary school, working in a community center in Nicaragua, or attending classes at our sister school in Beijing.
There is so much more I could tell you about our sports program with approximately 30 offerings, our strong creative arts program and facilities, and our World Languages program offered to students beginning in pre-school. But I would like to encourage you to come to see Brimmer and May in action by scheduling an interview and tour of the campus and by attending our Open Houses and admissions events. You will be able to experience firsthand the joy of learning at Brimmer and May.
